چکیده
Background: Radiologic imaging has become integral in not only the detection and diagnosis of subdural hematoma, but also guiding potential treatment options. Particularly, arena chronic which conventionally been managed via surgical drainage, although is shifting toward procedural intervention with embolization middle meningeal artery. This paper aims to review manifestations hematoma as a function chronicity, standardized methods measurement, identifying artery its clinically significant variant anatomy it pertains planning. Methods: A literature search using key terms titles was conducted for articles containing characteristics approaches primary focus. Results: The expected evolution over time encompasses broad array characteristics. Attempts at standardizing measurements include width, volume, midline shift. Given implication therapeutic embolization, familiarity vital mapping access, delineating possible dangerous collaterals. Conclusions: Equipped more comprehensive approach characterizing radiologist will be able curate findings greater utility clinician.

Interhemispheric Acute Subdural Hematoma: A Distinct Entity of Subdural Hematoma
We wish to notify the readers on a rare case of interhemispheric acute subdural hematoma (ASH) who presented to our emergency department (ED) with a falx syndrome of contralateral hemiparesis in lower extremity and severe headache. A 25-year-old previously healthy man was involved in a traffic accident and presented to our ED with complaints of repeated vomiting and severe headache. On arrival ...
متن کاملTraumatic Spinal Subdural Hematoma with Intracranial Subdural Hematoma
Traumatic spinal subdural hematoma associated with intracranial subdural hematoma is a rare condition. Herein, we report the case of a 62-year-old man with lower back pain, radiating pain, and numbness in both lower extremities, without motor weakness, for 2 weeks. Lumbar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed high signal intensity on T1-weighted image (WI), and low signal intensity on T2-WI...
متن کاملSpontaneous Spinal Subdural Hematoma Concurrent with Cranial Subdural Hematoma
A 39-year old female presented with chronic spinal subdural hematoma manifesting as low back pain and radiating pain from both legs. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed spinal subdural hematoma (SDH) extending from L4 to S2 leading to severe central spinal canal stenosis. One day after admission, she complained of nausea and severe headache. Computed tomography of the brain revealed chronic...
متن کاملSpinal Subdural Hematoma Associated with Intracranial Subdural Hematoma
The simultaneous occurrence of an intracranial and a spinal subdural hematoma (SDH) is rare. We describe a case of cranial SDH with a simultaneous spinal SDH. An 82-year-old woman visited the emergency room because of drowsiness and not being able to walk 6 weeks after falling down. A neurological examination showed a drowsy mentality. Brain computed tomography showed bilateral chronic SDH with...

General Information Subdural hemorrhage is bleeding below the dural membrane, whereas epidural hemorrhage, as previously discussed, is bleeding above the dura, i.e. between the dura and the overlying calvarium or base of the skull. The most common cause of a subdural hematoma is some form of direct impact trauma either as the result of an assault, fall or vehicular accident. Acute subdural hemo...
